Hi all,
I am having some problems with selecting gears in the auto box on my v8 disco 1.
i can put it in to reverse fine and it reverses ok
If i put it in to drive it wont do a thing, though
if i put it in to 1st it will pull off then once moving it can be put into drive.

Oil level seems ok on the dip stick.

it was driving ok on Saturday when i last moved it (turned it round on the drive)

Any ideas??

One of the clutches in the box needs replacing.

It won't get any worst and you can continue to drive it like it.

sounds like i need to keep my eye out for a new box then!

no idea of rebuild cost but Duckworths have 2 X disco 1 auto boxes for sale knocked down to £585.00 brand new..

Is that a good price?

Thats a good price for a new box, i think i will probably go with andys idea and get the old one rebuilt.
