Did you use a foam roller rob ? If so there isnt any need to brush first really

Yep. It's more about economy and speed . The paint is £28.25 for 473ml - ouch! Using a brush, I can get it into the grooves quicker (this stuff hardens really fast) and then smooth it with a roller to get a good finish. If I'd used just a roller, it would take longer to get it into the tread (risking it hardening half way across) and would probably need a lot more paint soaked into the roller, paint which is tricky to get back out.

Liking the floor Rob!

Is it much noisier now?

Cheers, thanks. It's difficult to say - the carpet has been out for ages and the chequer plate flooring has been in and out for for fitting several times.

I'd guess it's a touch noisier (but not by much) but at least I can be confident that my floor is not disintigrating under my feet. Any water that does get in can dry away in the air gap. Nothing came in during the recent floods.

Roll on the NS when I get chance.

:D:D

Thats dear mate and im not doubting the product but have you ever used this stuff
http://bit.ly/1h4QwvJ
Its decent stuff ive used it on a main metal exterior staircase to an old mill and gets high foot traffic use and it held up well granted it lasted gor a year or so but its a main entertance and plus you would be able to double coat things

Good old maglite by the looks off it , I like the location looks good, how have you done the back , all chequer or still got carpet?

Might give it a go after the POR15 runs out. :D

I'm a bit of a Maglite fan. That one is a 4 D Cell with a Terralux LED conversion (currently about £80) plus a upgraded lens (£10). Would cost over £110 to build another. There's a standard 3 D Cell LED on the passenger side, a 2 D Cell LED on the horizontal section of the rear door and a 3 AA Cell in the front over head map pocket.

By back do you mean boot or rear passengers? The boot will go the same "sometime" with black POR 15 and grip tape. The rear passenger floor is still dry so I'm keeping it "cosy" until it leaks which probably means I've just jinxed it!! The front passenger will match the front driver too - when I get chance.

:):):)

Just read through all 85 pages, well I skipped a lot and just looked at the pictures but hey :p

Gotta say that's a stunning disco and it only took 74 pages for it to get wet hehe

What a fantastic thread. It is inspirational and the paint job, well at least the method of painting, is something I will be looking into. Although the thought of never loosing the truck in the car park again has its benefits. It has been a great read although the wife is not overly happy that it has over ridden my list of chores for today...........

Happy to inspire :D :D

It passed the MOT today. Two advisories, slight play in track rod end and no SRS light.

Also had,

Oil and filter,
Diff oil and comedy magnetic plugs,
Gearbox oil,
Transfer box oil,
Rear drilled/grooved discs and EBC Green Stuff pads,
Rear wheel bearing, etc, etc.

Chuffed.

Noice

MOT tomorrow for our tdi disco, I'm bricking it!

Mainly cos I could really do with using the car and could do without the hassle of welding the bugger up!

Last ever tax disc arrived today. I'll be glad to see an empty screen, better for my OCD; especially as this year's is blue and the LR is green!
