Finally got the A bar welded to the D44 bumper. Wired the spots up and added some LED running lamps behind the grille.

Thanks for the pics mate..I've been thinking about a defender A bar on my winch bumper for awhile..although not a D44 it is a close fit winch bumper so firstly I thought the A bar wouldn't fit, but looking at your photo's it looks a similar width to my bumper. Secondly I'm assuming you just kept cutting the A bar down until the spots were centered between the bumper and the top of the bar?

Any change you could let us know the width of the bumper at the point were the bar is welded if you get 5 minutes? Cheers.

Yep. Just kept cutting. If you look in Post 34, the A Bar sat higher. Kept cutting and propping it up on the bumper, then sitting and staring at it.

The bumper is off at the minute - it's had Hi-Lift jacking tubes welded in - but if you look at the 7th photo in Post 46, you'll see that the back of the A Bar touches the red part of the grille and the front of the A Bar sits flush with the front of the bumper.:eek: It would not fit with the A Bar vertical (not that I wanted it too) as it needed to be tilted to fit. If you want, I can photo the bumper (off) tomorrow.

This has gotta be one of my fave Discos to date.
Top work, matey. Will be scouring it for ideas in March. :D

Awesome truck mate, really nice build. Can I ask where you got the reversing lamp and any pictures of the install into the spare wheel carrier?
