Hi I seem to have a leak atf fluid but cannot work out where from, I had replaced one of the gearbox cooler hoses a couple of weeks ago, that' all dry but this is dripping on other side, any ideas?
Could this happen if gearbox is overfilled?

Yup you may well be right, the fluid level is sitting at minimum, do you know if there are any common faults, seals or hoses that go pop or anything?

If you have ACE, check the rams, and the pipes to and from, as they are roughly just above where it seems to be, if someone has put ATF in it. If not then must be steering box or the pipes to and from. Common one is the one that runs across the car below the radiator, you cant see it, again somebody has put ATF in it.

From what I've read and heard, trying to repair the steering box yourself isn't always the easier or more successful course of action.
I think it's fair to say that many people would say replace the steering box first as last. A reconditioned box from a reputable supplier might be the better way to go.

Well i will ge0t it up on a ramp tomorrow and have a look, there is no ace system so most likely steering box then.

On my truck power steering was leaking at the seal. cost to replace was :eek::eek:. any how I stopped at parts store NAPA and the have a product to stop the seal leaking, was like teflon sort of stuff, which had a really thick viscosity to it. any way I put the bottle in it and it seems to have stopped leaking :). cost was a tenner It is worth a try.

I did remove the front grill and there is no fluid under the rad or running down any hoses, I think it will be at the steering box end, may be a pipe corroded due to where it is dripping from.
