There has been a debate about a the meaning of Lifetime Warranty on the Arnott airbags. I have sent them an e-mail and received the following answer:

The warranty is for the life of the vehicle. If the air spring wears out or breaks due to a manufacturers defect we will repair or replace it for you. The warranty is only for the person that purchased the part directly from us and is not transferable.
Michael

This is good enough for me for the price...
:)

That's sorted it then. As long as you buy direct from Arnott and not through a dealer it applies. The point is the OEM Dunlops will last just as long and are cheaper. It is highly unlikely that a bag will burst in normal use for ten years or more. Will you have the vehicle then, if not does that justify the extra cost? You may think it does, i don't. The warranty is for manufacuring defects only, wear a tear is excluded. Try telling Arnott in five years their bags were manufactured wrongly they will site wear and tear as a reason for not giving you new ones. It's an old potato i am afraid. Apparently some still fall for it.

All the Dunlops i have seen have been shagged at less then 8 years, Arnotts may well be the same, I hope to live long enough to find out LOL.

But what it says is:- " If the air spring wears out or ... .. we will repair or replace it for you"

That seems to cover it.

I agree that most owners wont have the car for long enough to take advantage of this though...

If your planning to keep the motor for eight or ten years the extra cash maybe justified. But keep the receipt. But they know this is not going to happen in most cases so it really is just a sales gimmick. But each to their own.

One of my Arnotts broke after 2 months. I was not happy, even though it was replaced immediately by P38spares, as it ruined my Salisbury plain trip (the base of the spring cracked on the first lane).
