Im 6ft 2 with arms the appropriate length for my body. However, I always seem to struggle to reach stuff under the bonnet what with the height of the landy and width of the wings. I have been tempted to whip a wing off to get at things but that seems like a pain. Nearly all of the landy owners I've met are shorter than me and I wonder how they reach into the gubbins to fix/remove things such as the alternator. Does britpart do special wrist extensions that I don't know about or do any of you employ the services of a urangatan as a mechanical assitant. Rheumatism, dodgy eyesight, a dislike of hot or cold weather and a propensity to laziness are also hindrances.

Or get a wheel step, but you'll bang yer head on the bonnet.

Stick with an up turned beer crate.

Stand on a box.

Stand on the front bumper with your chest on the rocker cover and your belly button round the radiator cap. This allows you to become impossibly uncomfortable in less than ten seconds and lose the will to live within minutes. Falling off the bumper is normal whilst scrambling for purchase on the steering bars. Losing a shoe in the process whilst rain runs down the crack of your arse becomes second nature but improves when bursting for a pee with your mobile going off in your pocket.
I find the doris calling from the back doorstep also helps no end just as you lose the socket off the end of your ratchet along with the nut, bolt and washers. Dont forget to knock all the other tools off the wing as you flail around, attempting a double back-flip with pike to extract yourself.

I dunno what the problem is...

I'm 6'2" as well and a box works well but be aware of the box sliding away from you as you lean right in.
The wheel step would be better methinks but I'm too tight to buy one and there is nowt in my scrap suitable to make one.:(

Also, shut the ventilator flaps, remove the split pin or R clip, and raise the bonnet against the windscreen. But you must fasten it up - they hurt when they land on your head.
