Are you sure? I thought it had to be checked by a registered person before is could be commissioned?
Nope, no legal need....sensibility and prudence would say it is best for it to be checked and setup by a pro....but there is no legal requirement to do this (strangely)

Whilst that would be a great idea....it would not be legal :D:D

Whilst there is no legal requirement to get it checked...the components do have to be made and supplied according to the regulations...!!!

I'll certainly enjoy reading your guide and expertise Ant but as long as I have a trusty hole in my rear end, I would never attempt it myself and I don't put myself in the numpty category. Spineless and fearful maybe but never numpty. (Unless you ask my wife of course but her fave nickname for me is ###head)

no insurance company will insure it without a certificate and it has to be put on the register thats why l had mine done .but as l said my so called expert was the other type, a drip under pressure and a has been because im glad l just happen to go under the car to clip off a couple of cable ties cus it was a mess so take from that what u want but u will need a certificate.and also u will benefit from a bluetooth adaptor to keep it tuned l bought mine for my kme system and link it to my phone and while the suicide pilot( aka the wife) is driving l can set it up on the move so yep deffo worthit for these big lumps make them more useable
