Still rebuilding the front axle for the series 3 and i am at the point were i have bolted on the drive flange, now according to the manual i need to slip an O-ring to it then a Spiralox ring then a spacer ring and then finally the castellated nut and split pin and hub cab as in the diagram below

however the parts i have ordered from Paddocks with what i am fairly sure are the correct part numbers dont seem a good fit, the castellated nut is certainly largely over sized and the rest seem to flop about on the shaft and have to be held up while i tighten the old castellated nut up. The part numbers i ordered are as follows:
O-ring RTC3516
Spiralox ring 556445
Spacer ring 556628
castellated nut 3259
are these the right part numbers and if they are am i fitting them incorrectly?

Depends on the landy - my 3 is an early one with no o ring, a felt washer and a steel washer between the nut and the flange.
 
Every thing about my axles so far has been of the early type for a series 3, does your O-ring fill the groove on the drive flange completely or does it sit round the shaft? And how thick (roughly) is your washer?
 
Sorry for not reading your post properly oxides (hope I don't do that on my exam on Monday!) I see you don't have any O-ring, I think this is probably what mine should be like.
 
It's a few years since I rebuilt my hubs. I followed the green bible (as per your top picture). What I do remember is that you can't do the castlated nut up tight as you have to align to the split pin hole. This is normal and is why the castlated nut is round so you don't torque it up too tight.

I realise that with the nut but if you look at the pictures you can see the new shiny nut is considerably bigger than the old one next to it, which made me wonder if Paddocks sent me all of the items over sized
 
They are the wrong parts mate, look like gearbox bits to me........your castellated nut should still gave six edges, spacers should be a neat fit and snap ring a tight fit
 
Wondering if that nut is for a Ninety - they had the big plastic hub caps instead of the smaller Series metal ones.
 
Turns out I don't need any of that, they only need the felt washer a penny washer and the nut and split pin, phoned Paddocks they were very helpful.
