Hi , Are there any friendly members in central Scotland with specialist land rover diagnostics machine or who know someone who can help ?
I did buy the icarsoft 930 handheld one a month ago but its limited and not showing any fault codes.
I have tried pretty much everything suggested on forums within my driveway monkey ability :) and really need some help to pinpoint root cause..
Basically my 2005 Freelander with TD4 diesel engine 98k miles takes about 6 or more cranking attempts when warm before it will start.
It starts 1st time no problem if left overnight for 9 hours or more.
It will however struggle to start if its left 9 hours in daylight.
If Its left for over 10 mins or so after a drive it will again struggle to start.
(new battery, new starter, leak off test fine I think, crankshaft and camshaft sensors fine, oil breather mod done, new glow plugs, new delphi low pressure pump and filter and cleaned egr)
Please get in touch if you think you can help

Thanks Id love to but its just a bit far away.Have you ever had anyone come in with similar faults like mine ? I can relay any particular data stream readings from my icarsoft i930. Its bit limited but please Let me know if you have a hunch and ill check.

Yes, but normally it's the things you have already checked...

Sounds like a loose connection some place. Has it had the Rail Pressure Sensor wiring overlay fitted? Seen this cause all sorts of issues

If there's a code triggering fault, the I 930 should show it. It might be worth changing the high pressure fuel rail sensor O rings. These have been known to cause starting issues and are cheap to change, even if it's just to eliminate them.

Edit:
Just read your other post, so ignore them O rings if you've done them.

Thanks for the link I was searching earlier and found this one but looks like this is only for regulator rather than sensor http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-YMQ503320
I will check out my sensor connector blades and spray cleaner on them. Looks like an awkward sensor to remove and will need a specially long socket to avoid sensor connector.. Any idea what socket size this is as Ill defo need to order one ? r

Reading your post with interest - which is not must use to you but I am having starting issues. Where did you get the glow plugs from?
Cheers

I'm not sure I have as it was the high pressure regulator o rings and seal I replaced. Is there also a known issue and repair kit for the sensor ?

It's a known issue. Replace the wiring harness with the repair kit...

That kit is for the rail pressure sensor, as per my previous post. Dint know why they call it a regulator

Hi I am new to Landy zone but I am looking for advice I have a RR sport 3.6 TD8 2007 and the MIF light is on showing code P140. as far as I can see this model does not have pre and post O2 sensor so I am a bit confused it showing this code. I need it cleared for the MOT can anyone advise me.

You're best bet is to start your own thread in the RR section of the forum. RR information will limited in the Freelander section. I'm confused as to your engine as I thought a 2007 RRS had a 2.7 L TDV6 or petrol V8.
Maybe a mod can move your post to the RR forums.

I don't think this thread will be shifted as its a Freelander thread.

However, I see the OP has already double posted into another section!
