Car cut out going round roundabout yesterday, then today it just stopped on its own whilst waiting at the same roundabout!
So little play with ign on a quite road, and the slightest pressure is enough to turn the key back and turn the engine off, so reckon switch has just about had it.
Loads to choose from just the switch or the whole assy, whole assy makes more sense as I am assuming the switch detent is in the main lock itself?
Do not want a cheap shttier that wont last.

Shame you don't know Jimmy the Dink he's pretty good at hotwiring. The barrel and key normally wear out to a point you cannot turn the engine off. There two parts to the ignition if I remember rightly. one diesel types and petrol version if ordering. and then the key part also has their difference. Worth checking a couple of lr spares websites for the right one.

I fitted a 300TDi spec Britpart switch / lock to my 90 back in 2014 (to replace the non-locking N/A type fitted as standard) and it has been fine.

Before swapping the barrel try changing the main live connector on the back of the barrel. That was the issue on mine been fine now for over a year.
