Did the dealer tell you the name of the mystery button?

Some.modells have a white emergency button in the doorframe front footpannels behind the pannel.

As I just found out with my luck of this thing mine dosnt.

I try to achieve get this door of the superlock mode.

Any way overriding it.
Not relying on the becm which cleary send the fault in the first place.

As I been told and seen in many problem posts one door in superlock can cause the eka not working.
Yes there is the way spening money out to get the becm sorted until it occurs again and cost money again


By finding the fault and a way to override and may even dusconnevt once is working the superlock mechanism on al doors - it gives at least the freedom of knowing this problem.is not coming back.

I don't.mind doing that as it is free and saves future paying out for it. And by now I know how to get every panel on the car in 5 minutes or less of and disconnect any cables.
 
so called the dealer which was helpful with the eka for the car and spoke to him going through the symptoms bit by bit.
now he told me if one door is super locked which appears its the stupid passenger rear door the becm will not accept the eka at all.
he said take the panel of and try to unplug and see if a test give me any details.
Complete rubbish. EKA uses Drivers Door latch only.


there is apparently a button you can use to unlock any super locked doors in the car on the foot well somewhere in the passenger side. but he warned me. pressing this would cause a problem on the central locking and need to be reset by land rover..
More rubbish. P38 never had such a button !!

now how do i get this panel of while the door is shut.??
i am on the point just ripping the thing apart to go in there.
Do as Marty says and ignore that door until you get the drivers door latch & EKA working. If you'r in a hurry, read RAVE manual and look at the passenger door wiring. Then you can disconnect the plugs I mentioned earlier from BECM, and pulse 12V on the motors to see if they still work. Do NOT put continuous 12V to the motors or you can burn them out.

Never heard of that button,both of mine have inertia switches with a reset button on top behind the A post foot panel which kills the electrical supply to the fuel pumps.[/QUOTE]

If you look through the search on this you should notice the vast amount of people that have sortrd this issue, then look at how and compare it to your method

I have enough i get more and more aggressive not being able to use it.

Before I start using an hammer on it I walked away.

I wait of the nanocom .
I also just bought a shogun 10 minutes ago.

Cheap, running and 3 month mot.
Mainly the previous owner disabled immobilisers and alarms when he bought it 4 years ago.

That gives the time to sort the range rover problem with hopefully not any more amount of cash.

As I already know a guy who pay me for the shogun what I pay because he wants the parts so is no loss.
 
How much did you pay for this P38 ? There's loads of posts on this forum about typical cost of ownership & the usual issues which mostly can be sorted fairly easily.
  • £500-1000 gets you a car that probably requires another £500-1000 to get properly sorted.
  • £1500-£3000 gets you one that should have most stuff already fixed (depending on where you buy it).
  • >> £4000 are the stealers that often hide broken stuff in the adverts.

Second part. And.looks.like is not looked after at all.
The dirt and **** i found by dismantling stuff was unreal.

Yes I did buy one. 400 quit. Just around the corner.
And is already going to the new owner which want the winch and other parts for more rhen that. Sorted.
Because now I don't need it anymore.

So I told him to get ****ed till then.

It accepted the EKA? Maybe jiggling all those wires and so forth sorted out a dodgy connection. Either way, a result.
 
Last I done checked them plugs in the a frames and cleaned all spiders.out.
Maybe I found the one interfering with electronics.
Not sure.
At least I am 100 percent sure carpet is bone dry underneath. Lol.
And the first time in his life it seen a hoover under the seats as they been removed in the process.

So I can only draw the conclusion that you were not entering the eka code correctly in the first place. I think it was @DanClarke posted a definitive procedure for entering the eka.I suggest you search it for the next time.

Pleased to hear you got your car working again.
EKA entry "can" be finicky and needs to be does slowly and methodically.
Once you have access to a Nanocom, you can remove all security or enter it with the Nanocom instead of the dodgy-lock-switches. :)

Not if he's v35 though. I'd be surprised though. Mine's a '95 and mine was v36.
 
8 pages on this thread and it magicaly starts...nanocom not arrived...bought Shogun can sell for more than bought..cant wait for the next help thread...
