Hi folks. It's time to replace the tyres on my 110 CSW and I've been offered 1 new and 4 nearly new Colway AT's for £250. I can't afford/justify BFG's & I've had Kingpins which have been OK for the snow and forest track mud that my beloved is mainly used for but I don't know anythnig about the durability of Colways. Any help advice would be appreciated.

Had some Colway AT remoulds on our P38 when we bought it. 2 months later and 1 puncture later I have swapped the lot for General Grabber AT2. The difference on the road is a lot.

The old Colways had some nicks in the sidewall and gave a relatively poor ride. The carcasses were of unknown quality and by judging by the sea chnage now on the AT2 the sidewall flex varied from one to another. They also seemed to go out of balance much quicker and more often than other tyres I have ever experienced.

They can't be that "nearly new" due to the fact that colway went tits up about two years ago.

I had a set of colway M/T's. They were on my mach 5's when I bought em. I never had a problem with em. They lasted well and weren't anywhere near as noisey as my Insa's are.

As already said, I wouldn't say that the ones you are being offered are nearly new.

isnt £250 a bit steep for 1 new and 4 part worn remoulds ? i bought 2 brand new runway enduro A/T 's a few weeks ago for £70 a piece and that was for 265/75/16 s

I had some colway a/t's on my classic and they lasted 4yrs with no problems. But as the other guys say £250 is far too much to pay maybe £150 MAX!

ffok me ya can get a brand noo set of amazons for less than £250 if ya shop around.

18 months ago i got very nearly new (less than 1000 miles) set of colway 235/85's off ebay wuth 8 spokes for £85, i never actually fitted them so sold them to a mate for £120 and he has only just swapped them for mt's and sold them part worn for £70.

They're decent tyres but for that money no way and as has been said they're at least 2 years old probably more. If you could get them for half that price might be worth it.
