It should be a fun day out ! Pictures guaranteed :)

Well done for stepping up but as I don't know you, your recovery experience and you're not on the LZIR database can I add a note of caution.

Walk the ground first. Spend some time thinking about what could go wrong and how to minimalise it. Don't be afraid to get others opinions.

Ensure all attending fully understand the plan of recovery. If things don't go to plan stop, rethink and agree alternative before continuing.

Have a clear understanding between each other about responsibility should recovery result in damage to either vehicle (or yourselves).

Good luck and keep us informed

Thanks for the advice , much appreciated.
To be fair I've done quite a lot of off roading in the past and recovered myself and others many times . Also worked in heavy industry all my life so very familiar with lifting and rigging
It should be a nice little adventure, updates tomorrow

+1. Sure you already know but watch that cable. If it snaps under tension you'll be in a world of pain.

Well I went and got it out !
The ground was extremely boggy! I aired the tyres down at the bottom of the slope but could not even move more than a couple of meters before sinking in. First job , winch up the 100 ft high bank o_O . I honestly don't think you would have got a 4wd tractor up its very steep and the ground is just falling away . I would think there's every chance you would roll it .
Anyway ,got to the top of the bank on a solid ish bit of bog and set up for the pull . The disco was proper bogged down and had a flat battery o_O So set up for a double line pull with snatch block ,5t slings and 4.5 t bow shackles.I put a 3 t sling on the recovery points bridle fashion.
My 90 was secured to a tree behind with another 5 t sling to the NATO hitch.
It took about 1 hour of winching to drag the disco a hundred feet or so and get it back on solid ground.
Sorry there aren't many pics, I was a bit busy and muddy !
All in all quite a fun day . Nice to meet a fellow forum member too:)
