Defender 110, Disco 3, '74 Lotus Elan & t'other halfs Merc 200 SLK
Defender I've had from new -1992
Elan I've had since 87. You think Landrovers break down?

Elan's are apparently more unreliable than the British weather  :D

I was wondering how many on here run more than one vehicle.
I don't mean as well as the wifes / girlfriends, I mean you have a Landy and something else.
I have my disco which I plan on selling in a few months, which will leave me with just my defender 110, but I am looking at getting a car also, a sort of mid life crisis, fun, different, I dont know what.
I fancy a BMW convertible.
I just wondered if I'm on my own,as in who the hell needs two cars, or are there others who have two, or more even, and get fun, or use out of them, to make it worth the extra costs.
Anyone else or am I on my own..

90 300 tdi for fun - Vw passat est family long runs/work - Fiat 500 abarth wifes- 500hp Mits Evo toy (instead of a bike)

Mercedes 124 series estate, will be 20 next year. This car now undergoing very slow restoration to bring it back to as it left the factory.

A Mercedes 168 A class for general messing around and dog walking.

Not far wrong there. What genius designed a sports car with a service interval of 1500 miles, a distributor mounted beneath leaky twin webers so you have to take it out to change the points, a clutch that can only be changed by taking the engine, gearbox and prop out as one unit and electrics that have a mind of their own?

Just passed its MOT for another year but advisory notes that run to two pages......:D

British engineering :tea:
My dad has worked on a few off them and as you said, apparently they are a nightmare, even simple jobs are made difficult because the people who built it clearly didn't think anything through :D I think the main one for the Defender is not being able to remove the downpipe without either removing the engine :suspicious: or the X-member under the gearbox :D

We run an 04 Disco every day my S III we be done by Christmas, mother inlaw runs an 03 Defender
And I have a yamaha fs1e

I have two. I use my Saab 93 every day and the Landy is just there for bimbling about at weekends and lookig pretty in the driveway. However, at the moment, I have spent more money on fixing it compared to actually driving it :D

Hoping to take the Landy off road soon though :)

a p38, a 1986 escort xr3 project, and a 1987 bmw e30 325i m tech 1 sport, which is one hell of a drivers machine !

but being classic cars, they are cheap to insure, and insure the p38 as a 2nd car, so they sort of bounce off eachother...and all 3 cost sbout £500 a year, although selling the ford, tbh...3 lots of mot`s, tax, maintenence etc, is just a ball ache at times

Defender 90 (supposed to be the sensible practical car / tow vehicle)
Race spec classic mini - actually is more practical then the 90!
