Hello, I need wisdom on a point I know little about. My lovely 2002 TD5 90 is lifted 2" and has no ARB's front or back. Nowadays its mostly road driving for me with occasional and mild off-road and it does wallow a bit in corners. I suppose my options are:

1. Take the lift off (but I am a sucker for how good it looks tall)
2. Fit ARB's front and rear

If option 2 - does a standard kit work? or does it need to be specific to fit the lift.

If you have experience of the benefits of fitment I'd really love to hear about it. I think it has all the necessary brackets on the underside (but again not 100% sure).

OK, just read on another site that for a 2" lift you should install 1" spacers on the brackets mounting points to prevent the likelihood of the ARBs flipping over the axle under big articulation.

Often wondered myself but whilst they would work as intended would they not reduce some of the much sought articulation?

Years later i fitted anti roll bar standard ones,what a difference it made cornering
Like a different vehicle so much safer,not tried off rd since bound to make a difference though less articulation.

Big articulation might be less relevant to me these days but I saw this that seems to suggest the downside vs the upside of better road cornering might be quite marginal:

A few times I have become cross-axled when wheels lift, or drop into a hole, and I don't think my articulation is all that it could be.
In this case for instance the rear right wheel was in a hole and spinning but I would have thought the suspension should have allowed it do drop lower down?
Should I be looking to remove bits and bobs to allow the wheels to drop further?

By disconnecting your anti roll bar, you will gain only 1" max extra articulation.
I would check the extended length of your shocks first as normally these are the limiting factor when looking at axle articulation.
Of course if you get large articulation, you may have fit dislocation cones to your springs to stop them popping out !

Thanks for the replies both - that sounds like what I needed to hear. I'll start looking at kits. Any reason to not go for the BritPart offerings?

I did fit a britpart kit against my better judgement,but got to say 4 years on no issues,you do get 2 yr warranty i believe.
