There's nothing wrong with your painting mate, it's spot on. You should be really pleased with the what you've done so far - it's an awesome job! :)

Cheers :)
Wasn't really saying it like that, was more just the fact I'm not a pro and don't know the ins and outs when something is different, I.E the weather

No I'm no expert ,I'm like you paint my own stuff and learn something new all the time noticed if I've used more hardener use time is shorter so goes off faster
As said your painting looks great to me

Ah, fair enough, I've taught myself and just do my own stuff too, it's just when it's out of the norm I'm not sure, like now
I've never tried increasing the hardener amount in the paint as I thought it may affect the final outcome of the colour.
But will give it a go next time and see if it goes off any quicker :)

lets see some pics of the colour then!!! eeeeekkk

Nothing special, just imagine the above pic only shinier :p
Can yer guess what it is

Well I haven't done a lot today, bloody weather :(
The plan was to get the tub prepped by the end of the day so I could primmer tomorrow, paint Friday and fit at the weekend when I've got a helping hand.
But it's been on and off with rain most of the day and just couldn't get the tub dry enough for long enough so I could do the sanding.
I did take the bench seat out the back and took all the lights off etc. but that's as far as it got.
Hopefully tomorrows a better day all round as I've felt like crap all day too.
Worst night in a while, don't you just wish their was an off switch sometimes :(

On a plus note the paint on the bulkhead came out good :) better than I thought actually.
Crap picture as it's pretty dark in the shed so will get some better ones when I fit at the weekend.
And if it looks the same as before that's because it's the same colour only shinier :p

Chin up mate! :)

I know I've said it before but I'll say it again you are doing a fantastic job and only wish the stuff I did looked half as good! :)

Hopefully the weather holds off for you tomorrow ;)

And again keep up the good work, really looking forward to see the next installment. :)

Thanks Robb :)
Your stuff looks good to me :) mines just pretty and painted

I'm kinda lost to be honest and get like this from time to time (or more like most of the time )
I just put it on here to get it off my chest, if not it'll only build up then I'll explode

If weather doesn't hold off I'll set the gazebo up and hopefully it doesn't blow away  Can't even find a tarp, so much for shed clean ups, don't even know where they are now

Hi mate - I've got a massive long gazebo you can borrow for a while, It's really long. I bought it to paint my Beetle.

Thanks for the offer mate :) but I've got a gazebo, I just don't want it to blow away  Been a bit windy here.
Not got much to do outside other than the tub I don't think so not a major really, I'm just a moaning impatient twunt.

Most people use brushes, rollers or a spray gun for painting with. It must have been pretty difficult to get a good finish. :bolt:

So, tub is done :)
Thursday brought more ****'e weather, so decided the gazebo idea wasn't going to end well.
So I pushed the chassis outside and stuck it in the garage instead.
Got it prepped yesterday.
The plan was to do all the painting in the shed as I mentioned before, but I decided that doing the tub in the shed would just be too awkward, and as it was already in the garage I waited until next door went out this morning and got it in primmer.
Gave that a while to dry and still not back, so made the most of it and got some colour on too.
So I'm back to where I wanted to be originally :)
Paint seems to be going on well despite the cold so pretty chuffed with it.
Crap picture, but hopefully be fitting it tomorrow so more pics then :p

Well not a bad day, although I was a lazy twunt and didn't start until about 1ish.
First job, get the tub out the garage.
I had to rope brother in for this, kinda annoying how he complains about it and I'm left to do everything when this is for him.
Paint has come out pretty good, but not 100%
Still it looks a 100x better than when I started, so happy overall.

Went and got bulkhead from shed and fitted with said uninterested brother.

With the bulkhead fitted it meant I could do the front to rear brake pipe, plus a few other jobs that I'd left.
And then stuck the tub on :)
Not bolted down properly yet as I have a few repairs to do in the usual places, I.e seatbelt mounts.
And again apologies for the crap pics, but it was dark and the dogs where trying to get out the gate, so had to shut up shop.

So the plan now is to do most of the painting, front doors, sides and wings at least.
I'd usually bolt stuff on as I do it, but I that means rolling it outside and I don't want the nosey neighbours to see me fitting freshly painted panels.
Because then they're onto me and know I'm painting again.
So if it's all done and painted, I'll just roll it outside one day and fit the lot, bit late for them then, or hopefully

So I'm hoping non of the nosey neighbours have seen me today, I know one of them was out but not sure about the other.

But now the bulkhead and tub is on it gives me a fair chuck of work to get on with, which is how I like it :)
drives me mad messing about trying to find little bits to do.
Reminds me of work and I hate that f*cker too.

Why didnt you paint inside of bulkhead while it was out?

Engine bay side?
In short I'm trying to keep it to a minimum and be as quick as possible with the paint, so not to get any hassle :(
Inside out respray looks a lot better but not really possible at home, I just don't have the room to do it either.
But I'll be doing the engine bay side in waxoyl or the like as it should offer more protection than paint, especially on the footwells.

And maybe, just maybe one day I will have a decent sized workshop where I can do things as I want without worry.
Instead of scrambling about in my little hovel wondering what the next complaint is going to be :(

Great rebuild ! Always nice to see aswell if your not the only one who do rebuild projects with limited space :-D

Cheers :)
Yes I've done a couple now, but it's starting to wear thing now :(
Especially on this build as I'm trying to hide everything from the neighbours, but that's a different story
To be honest I think this will be the last one, had enough of scrabbling around in my little hovel and neighbours never being happy whatever I do.

:eek: last one.?! :eek::eek:

Small update, not really been doing a lot the last few days, kinda ****ed off, well no change there then
So today is the first day I've actually got something to show.
Yesterday was spent fitting the pedal boxes, painting engine bay side of bulkhead, prepping the van sides and painting a few more brackets.

Van sides where nice and dry this morning after sanding yesterday and it was a rather warm 12 degrees in the shed so decided to get on.

Epoxy primed then high build and then top coat some hours later.
God I could hardly move in the shed.

So inbetween that I started prepping the door.
Again they are going to be left over night to dry and in the morning they want a small amount of stopper to finish off.
So the plan is to get the doors painted tomorrow (if I can fit them both in the shed at the same time)
And prep the wings inbetween like today and paint them Friday with a bit of luck.
