Hi all. (p38 1999-T 4.0L 140k)

So, replaced the pump today after it failed to rise from bump stops. Second one in about 5 years.

Pump works fine, no EAS error messages.

However, still failing to rise. How long does it take to fill in the system?

Check your connections and go around with a spray bottle/soapy water look for obvious leaks

Don’t let your new pump over running feeding a leak will burn it out in no time

Run engine with door open, tank should fill and compressor stop within five or six minutes. Shut door car should rise, compressor will start up and run for a couple of minutes to top up. If that does not happen look at tech archive at my EAS post to check for possible problems.

thanks both,

I checked for leaks and all seemed ok, however, instead of the door i kept the bonnet open, will that make a difference?

Yes bonnet makes a difference. The bonnet will not lock out the system.
Must be a door or the tailgate

ok, so i tried it with the door open and same result....

However...

when i pressed the suspension lock button, that's when i get the 'beep' and the 'EAS manual' message.

I do not have any other messages on the dash.

any ideas anyone?

Sounds like you are not getting air into your tank.
Do you know what killed your old pump?
If pump is giving pressure then it must be leaking.
I would suggest the pipe over the back axle especially if exhaust is leaking

Mine suffered from failing pump seals due to irratic front suspension height sensors.. But diagnostic live data may help reveal any problems.
