Arrived today 97 4.6 HSE..no papers...don't know EKA and can't get it without papers...done 57k Kim's and not been run since re-chassis by main dealer in 2006...will new chassis from LR have a number stamped on it? havn't had time to check...don't know what to do with it yet till we do a bit of paper searching...last thing we want to do is break it to good for that...

Steering wheel is on the wrong-side ;)

Do you know why it was re-Chassis'd? Looks very good underneath indeed.

The seats are the same as the ones in my project car but in much better condition, so if you want to sell them.................

Will let you know and give you first refusal if we go that route...the car was for the project manager of a golf course that didn't go ahead still trying to find out why it's got a new chassis...

Far to good to break..

I'd fluff it up and sell for a good profit ;)

Once you find the papers etc ;)

The VIN will be stamped on the plate visible on the upper side of the dashboard? That's what left the factory, re-chassis or not. And is what the BeCM will match. Online services can give you the EKA from that I thought? e.g. here: https://forums.mg-rover.org/land-ro...codes-radio-codes-key-codes-available-361434/

Thanks for that...we have checked vin out and appears ok...now checking with authorities status of vehicle there's got to be a reason it's not been on the road for 13yrs the owner who gave us it is being a bit vague why after a main dealer re-chassis it never was driven again...

I updated since then. There are online services that will give it to you almost right away

Thanks that's exactly what we need...will get on to it tomorrow...unfortunately Barry lent his Lynx to his last Boss who broke it so that's going to hold us up as well...

Chassis should be stamped (originally)
RH front rail behind wheel towards the back if I remember right.

Would be a shame to break it because of lack of paperwork work, it looks in good condition.

@DanClarke ....EKA code arrived at 5pm from your link...but we were at the bar by then so Monday will get on to it...thanks again for link...
It appears it was the project managers car for a golf course that never went ahead and he ended up at the bottom of the valley ripping out the underside on the way down it looks like it's all new under there sump\tank\anti-roll bars exhausts...still not got the full story why it's lain 13yrs it appears it might have a debt on it and it's registration canceled but we are working on that...

Hey! Good Luck on getting it road-legal and running in tip-top shape. Far too good to part-out IMHO.

Apart from few dents the parts are in immaculate condition, far too good to break unless there’s a hidden horror story under there, which Barry would have noticed before now. Very nice :)
