Hi folks

I got home from being away for a few weeks and couldn't start the car. Got a double beep warning and no lights on the dash but windscreen wiper would work which was odd. I jump started the car from my wifes car and the Rangie started up.

Now I cannot change the volume on the the stereo and I only get output quietly from the rear speakers. The sat nav screen is blank but seems to have some power to it as it gives a white screen not black.

Anyone got any ideas? The fuses look ok to me and the stereo does work but I assume the amp isn't working.

Might there be fuses inside the amp and satnav that can have gone?

I'll be gutted if they are both broken as the cost to replace will be alot.

Sorry it's a P38 4.6 Vogue 2001.

The amp is harmon kadron and the sat nav is the standard one.

Hi,

I think the satnav is knackered. This happened to me after some local muppets in a garage removed the battery too quick after stopping. Unfortunately I couldn't prove it. Anyway had a blank screen and no control of the volume. The only way forward for me was to unplug the satnav in the boot. The audio then kicked back to life. I haven't missed the satnav as compared to a tomtom it is lacking.

Hope this helps.

Chris

The sat navs hate having the power cut to them when they are starting up and if you gave too much cranking when the battery died, you mave have crocked it. The amps do have a habit of dying, but I feel yours is related to the sat nav. Try disconecting the sat computer and see what happens.

Thanks for the info I'll give that a try.

I would have thought that the fuse should prevent something like this happening.

Any idea how much a replacement sat nav will cost?
