Looking for some advice. Been replacing weeping gasket on the front cover on my 1982 2.25 diesel. We'll see how successfully when it gets hot! Just wondered if anyone had a picture in situ of the correct fitting of the bottom bolt for the alternator adjustment bar - the slotted one. When I took it off there were several flat washers packing out the bottom bolt in different places- from on-line diagrams (Front Cover - 2.25 Litre Diesel - Find Land Rover parts at LR Workshop) it appears there should be a single spacer (No 574948) which I can only assume has been lost and replaced with washers. Those diagrams don't really show the sequence but I have assumed its spacer closest to cover, then adjuster bar, then bolt head but wanted to check before I go ahead and spin something up on the lathe in case the spacer goes between the bolt head and the adjuster bar. Assume the spacer has to be a specified length as well to make sure the bolt torques the timing cover down tightly enough onto the block. Sorry if this is a bit simple for some of you but I'm trying to avoid perpetuating a possible mistake by just simply copying the current arrangement . Thanks....Ian
