All the indicators have decided to stop working on me 110. Not even any lights come up on the dash when you try to turn them on. Hazards don't work either... can't figure out where I should be looking for the fault... I've checked both fuses and they are fine.

Any ideas anyone? :):D

Dead flasher unit? Probably behind dash but I'm sure someone will tell you if it's different.

Hazard switch and flasher unit. Get your multimeter out and check there's power to them - a wiring diagram is a big help too! The indicators require the hazard switch to be working properly in order to operate seperately.

i had the same problem mate. a new flasher unit sorted it right out :)

could be somthing ells but id put my money on the flasher unit. as instantsquid's Avatar
instantsquid said its just behind the fusebox :)

Hi all thanks for the replies:)

Have just had a look behind the fuse panel (in the cabin in front of the front-middle seat, right?) and there's no flasher unit there, just the relays. I also had a look in me steering column, nothing there either  Where the fook is it?? Haynes is next to useless on this as well...

Don't worry, just having a blonde moment - yeah it is there, I gave it a tap with me screwdriver and it's working again now. I'm going to order a spare just in case in packs up again. :D

Cheers all :)

Well as I expected they've packed up again today, so I need to order the flasher unit... but I can't work out which one I need! There seem to be like 5 different types! The one I've got is blue, and it has 4 pins... car is a 1989 (G) 110 CSW.

Cheers any help appreciated

you need a blue 4pin one for an 89 110 :D

Well, got the flasher unit today, but I don't think that was the problem after all... something wierd is going on.

When you switch the hazards on, the hazards don't work, but if you try the indicators with the hazard switch on, the indicators work perfectly.

However if you turn the hazards off, you get nothing - no hazards and no indicators - is this looking like a faulty hazard switch to you guys?

Yep - I'd check the wiring to the hazard switch. It needs continuity through it, even when it's off, for the indicators to work. I spent ages with a multimeter and the wiring diagram to understand how the hazard switch, the indicator switch, and the flasher unit all work together.

Cheers, I've checked the wiring to the hazard switch and it looks OK to me - no loose or dodgy connections that I can see. Is it common for the hazard switch itself to go bad and cause these problems?

The switches can and do play up. Sniff the switch and see if it smells burnt. Does the switch feel sticky to operate?

my flasher relay got wet the other day, and I took it out and dried it for the fix, but since then, if I put the hazards on, my towbar electrics warning lamp flashes instead of the indicator one. Nothing would flash before, other than the hazard switch bulb in the switch. :S

Got the same problem, heavy rain filled the relay up, (in france) got a simular one but it kept blowing the ind fuse, ordered up another relay, fitted it and nothing, i've got purple power to hazard switch and green to relay but its not putting power to the other posts, could be another wrong relay. 1990 110 csw with 19j motor,

did you sort yours out? i'm making my way thru all the 'indicator problem posts?

OK - so had the fast flashing indicator. Checked the bulb badly seated, but couldn't replace without it becoming unseated again. So I (foolishly it appears) tried a different bulb holder - now none of the indicators work.
Hazards work. No indicators. Fuses (obviously) OK......

Ideas?
