Hi AlL,

Here is another happy driver of Freelander!

I have a problem with my IRD/DIFF.

The story is that i had 2 diffs broken now and have fitted another one but also fitted reconditioned VCU from Bell Engineering. However my problem is still not resolved and the car is still making noise when I reach around 50 miles and over. My mechanic said today that after driving it for a few miles IRD and Diff were hot but VCU was not (he said front part of VCU was filling just a bit warm but not hot). Now I don't know what else to do as I am not sure if the IRD is gone or is something else.

Can you please help I will really appreciate it.

Many thanks,

Alex

Hi Alex,

The most common advise you will receive here, is to burn the freelander and claim insurance, then to buy a proper land rover

You're welcome :)

Hi :welcome2: do a search with the search bar top left or ask in the freelander section it's a common falt and has been coverd in grate detail.

Failing that burn it befor it burns you or the doors fall off in this rain

put the largest diameter wheels/ tyres on the rear, change the oil in ird, check for metal and discolouration when you drain it.

well, apart from the last sentence:p

Then use the oil you've drained to set fire to it :D:D:D
OP seems to be yet another one post winger :scratching_chin:
