Hi all, the alarm on my series 2 is playing up. When i lock it with remote, the alarm goes off straight after the 10 second setting period. The only way to stop it is to lock it with the key in the door. Now i know by locking it with the remote your setting the interior sensors but ive checked theres nothing in the car that could set them off. When i come back to unlock it with the key it goes off again until i put key in ignition. Lucky my alarm sounder dont work, would really be driving me nuts by now.
Any ideas

Cheers Rob

You must have a volumetric problem cos locking with the key doesn't set it off (volumetrics dissabled), incidently, using the key to unlock DOES NOT dissarm the alarm, only the fob should be used to dissarm and unlock. It's designed that way.

Update, if i lock the door with key and unlock using remote its fine

Definately a volumetric problem then, pull out the sesor from the roof and disconnect it, this will eliminate the wiring, if it doesn't go off, replace the sensor and try again.

If it proves to be the sensors is it as simple as changing them or am i looking at a dealer with a degree in computers.

Took the sensor out by passenger front door and alarm now works as before, the sensor was soaking wet from leaking sunroof so maybe it will work again when its dried out.
