Howdy,
I've searched High and Lo and can't seem to find a definitive answer, hopefully someone can gimmie a hand...
I have a 1994 M reg 300TDi Discovery, It was bought without any remote key fobs and with what are clearly replacement keys for the drivers door, which only work in the drivers door.
Recently the drivers door lock started to get stiff to lock, I took the door card off and loosened everything up and it was fine back to locking how it should... However this afternoon I came to lock the drivers door and something went clink and now the key just freely moves in the lock.
I removed the door card again and it appears that part STC1219 has snapped (I do have quite a handy vid if anybody would like to see it) so I'm currently now locking the car through the central locking on the inside from the passenger side and then locking the passenger door with the ignition key.
Now a new replacement STC1219 seems to be about £20 I haven't got time to go scrap-hunting at the moment and I'm working away from home...
I have found on fleabay however a "working" Alarm ecu, replacement door lock with original key and original "working" key fob and ignition barrel for £30
Is it possible to simply replace the alarm ecu? I don't want to remove the alarm just replace it so the key fob would work and trigger the central locking...
Cheers for reading!
