My D2 TD5 02plate aircon isn't working - suggestions please for checks & lests & re - gassing if that's needed. The fan works properly - the air isn't being cooled.

Does the AC clutch pull in?
I.E can you see the center of the AC compressor pulley turning?

While waiting for more knowledgeable peeps to pop on.
It'll be either a switching/wiring problem, or the solenoid on the AC unit.
the fact that the fan works tends (I am being brave here) to suggest it is less liekly to be a switching problem. A multi meter should tell you if it is being "asked" to come on.
When it happened to me I got a secondhand one off eBay which worked fine. Saved on the gas by clamping the two pipes with clamps and bits of wood.
Best of luck.

It doesn't. what next?
You could force the clutch to come on, (for testing only) if it’s got gas it will get cold on 1 pipe and air pretty quick.
If so then you have a control (sensor, switch) issue.
If not then you have no gas.
You could just go old skool and push the valve and see if you get squirted in the face, but I wouldn’t suggest that ;).
I don’t know the D2 setup but expect it’s similar to the P38 of the same age. The trianary switch is a favourite, if you get cold with the clutch forced.

If it's low on gas the compressor is disabled by the dual pressure switch so make sure it has enough gas in it before troubleshooting for other more complicated issues
