Looking for opinions for my next purchase, either shears or nibbler.
Any recommendations? (Cheap of course ;))

Get both they both have their uses.
Nibbler doesn't distort sheet and useful for curves etc, shears for speed rough trimming.
I've got quality stuff which cost a bomb years ago.
A mate got lidl or aldi stuff and it works just as good but who knows how long it lasts? If available, get replacement punch and dies for the nibbler .

The first question you should be asking yourself is, "Which do I need?"
It's nice to have a garage or shed full of tools but they're only useful if you have or expect to have a job for them, otherwise they're just money taking up room gathering dust or worse, rust.
The advice given to me years ago by my father was buy the tools you actually need and then buy the best you can afford, and if you're only going to use something once then try to borrow or hire it.

I've got some of that Lidl stuff that I thought would fall to bits in5 minutes but years and lots of use later they still work

Good point but I dont exactly need either. Will only be used for cutting steel for welding patches ( although I try now to buy vehicles that dont need welding) so I could get by with tin snips, just looking to make things easier
