What diagnostic did he use? Was your battery in good shape as low volts can cause non communication.

Lots of things can cause that, low battery volts is one another is water in the electronics in the LH rear quarter of the boot and water in the spare wheel well. It will most likely need to go on diagnostics but LR stuff of that year is not compatible with standard OBD diagnostics.

TestBook T4 goes to 2005. Agree with water penetration problems (bad design)

Just one thing. When TestBook is used it intergates all the ECU's before you can go to EAS etc so it sounds like it didn't even get going? Also the sidelights need to be on.

Thanks for your replies i,ve spoken to mechanic and the diagnostic machine is a Brain Bee . i,ve checked boot and left side compartment for water and its dry. Bit cheeky but is there anyone local with a diagnostic machine who may be able to help for some beer tokens.

thanks for your help

Sussex is a big place!!...could you narrow it down a bit - maybe some one local can help...

Hi all my range rover has been diagnosed today I've been quoted 300to fix it.the part needing replacing is near side air shocks.the height ride sensor light is now working and air suspension inactive warning has gone however it still won't raise up to high.does this quote sound about right to you.Atb

Say to your mechanic that you will gladly pay the £300 BUT ONLY IF IT CURES IT !

Many "mechanics" out there will gladly keep replacing items "willy nilly" at the owners expense but when the cost falls onto the mechanics wallet if it doesnt work then they become more cautious on diagnosis !

thanks for your replies i have spoken to the garage who are doing the repairs and they have assured me that it is the airbag as it was going up and down on there diagnostic macine and the bag had a slight leak. i will keep you posted as its going in on tuesday.

Tell the garage that a website full of anally retarded RR nerdy owners (Us ! - lol) are watching with baited breath as we will all at some time suffer Air Suspension problems !

Bearing in mind I have not got your car infront of me it is impossible for me or anyone else at this time to discredit your garages' diagnosis.

But I would like to say try this first - tonight when you put your RR to bed for the night park it on a flat level surface (if poss) and send your suspension to "Off-road" max height.

Visually check all is level - then go to bed

In morning see if car is leaning to the corner of the alledged "leaking" airbag.

Your EAS periodically when parked will check and adjust its height (this is a normal feature of the L322)

So here is my point - if your leaky airbag "leaks" all night eventually your EAS air tank will empty and the EAS will no longer be able to level off the suspension.

If you wake up to a "leaning tower of RR" then a leak is a possibility

If you wake up to a level full height RR then my guess is you aint got a leaky bag !!

As I say though I havnt got the luxury of your car in front of me to check !!!!

Dave,

The L322 will level upwards (unlike the P38) but I always thought that once it has levelled upwards as many times as it can until the Tank is empty, the system will than start to level to the lowest corner like the P38 does!!

If after than tank is empty and the L322 starts to maintain level by lowering to the lowest corner, it could eventually end up on the bump stops....

Or am I way off the mark!?
