resurrecting this thread because its done it again.
Here is the up to date list of jobs I have completed.
- Recon injection pump
- Timing adjustment (it was well out somehow)
After these two, it drove spot on for a long time with the occasional hiccup
Today i did these, because of the occasional hiccup and it takes a while to fire up first time in the day, so I assumed there was a pinhole leak somewhere.
- Fuel filter housing
- leak off pipes
- replaced most of the nylon pipes
it then went lumpy again, i noticed that the pipe going from lift pump to filter is dodgy, it can be moved in and out of the lift pump even when its nipped up tight.
although my lift pump is less than 1000 miles old, I've ordered a new one, also ordered a new pipe that i said i was dodgy, as well as a new fuel filter just to be certain.
lift pump handle doesn't do anything no matter how much crank it to change the position.
after all the jobs today it started relatively easy, but a few revs and it went lumpy and cut out.
am i doing something wrong with letting it bleed / prime? should i just let it idle for a while and see how it goes?
it eventually got better, so I thought to test drive it and it cut out 50 yards down the road, really does not like high revs.
I'm supposed to be taking it to both the workshop to drop the gearbox out and then to Wales in a few weeks so I'm panicking that it isn't going to be done.
is there anything else that i am possibly missing or not thinking of doing.
Im going to put a one way valve between tank and lift pump as i was recommended to.
I am also at some point going to bypass the lift pump and go electric.
doing some research while I await the new parts so any help greatly appreciated.
