Hi Guys
Just stripped the EGR off our 2003 TD4 (106k miles) and cleaned it out thoroughly, also took opportunity to fit new air filter and modified BMW engine breather unit.
I removed the air ducting unit that attaches to the EGR and gave it a good clean with oven cleaner, then engine cleaner but there is still a bit of cr@p stuck inside it.
I also noticed that the ports it attaches to on the engine are also full of black cr@p but obviously without stripping the block I can't easily clean them
Has anyone else noticed that?
Can anyone recommend a cleaner that I can use to help clean the pipework/ducting and maybe start to clean the ports into the engine? (Maybe something I can spray into the ducting with the engine running or something)
I did the EGR 2p mod, but didn't disconnect or block the vacuum pipe, should I do this as well? or should I go the whole hog and get a EGR bypass kit? (If so, can anyone recommend one?)
Thanks in advance for advice/help/suggestions.
