Both my air-con valve (Low & High) inserts are faulty.
They measure 22mm x 8mm
Might anyone know where they can be bought?

I bought two from a spare parts dealership for £20. Theyre gold plated, it seems.
Injected yellow dye and fitted them, followed by a recharge. All seems good to go so far.

I tested the system once again. It's freezing cold and the pressure gauge, when connected, is constant.
The valves were at fault. When removed, on inspection, the HP one was seized while the LP rubber had perished.
Cheaper to DIY.

That's good. Just seems a lot to pay for a Schrader valve. (Cheap for an aircon fix though). Odd that they failed. I don't think I've ever seen a failed one before. Do you reckon someone has been putting nasty substances in the system? I know there are some so-called "leak sealers" that work by softening the rubber in the various o-rings in the system and causing it to swell, but in the long term, they just tend to "melt" it.

I reckon there might well be more owners with faulty valves than is known. How many have slow leaks, I wonder, pumping expensive cans of sealant into the system or paying a garage to do it for them?
Mine is fixed. Brill. Worth that £20.
