my range rover has this after market immoboliser which wont let me start the car sometimes. how easy is it to rip out? mine don't have a touch key it has a transponder key.

or is it the factory one playing up says engine disabled. press fob fob lights up but nothing happens not even from the door locks and the drivers door don't work off the key :-(

sometimes i put the key on the first click of the ignition and after 20-30 times pressing the fob it turns the immoboliser off but earlier weren't having it at all.

How do you know it has an after market immobilizer fitted? Sounds like the standard factory system, can be disabled with diagnostics. Could be an RF receiver problem or the drivers door lock mechanism amongst other things. Diagnostics may shed some light.

just guessing as my other p38 and my old one did not have a autowatch system and it has had a hole drilled it the the side of the dial pod for a LED.

You get the message on the dash so the OEM integrated system is operational

Why would you fit an after market immobiliser the factory one works just fine. Use the proper one or sort it out if it's gone down and throw the other one in the bin.

Some insurance wonks in the past have insisted that for cover the car be fitted with a Thatcham Grade whatever immobiliser, from their list.

For the cover of one of my cars they inisisted the car had a tracker fitter, which it has previously, but i'm effed if i'm paying the subscriptions for it.. they just want to see proof of installation.

go figure !

The alarm and immobiliser on a P38 is as good as it gets. No need for anything else. For christ sake even the owners can't start them with the key at times. :D

dont we know it. so how some scroat is ever going to pinch it is beyond me.but the first one to do it will be wanted by every p38 owner in the country to show them how to do it and i bagsy being at the top of the list
