Hi

I have a 1996 v8 disco that has suddenly developed a rumbling vibration somewhere around the transmission tunnel/passenger footwell area,it occurs when I take my foot off the throttle at around fifty mph under engine breaking.

The gear box selects normally and there is no loss of power in the drive chain. I suspect it may be something to do with the front diff.

Can anyone advise what it could be.

Thank you

Thanks
Will have a look at uj's later however I was greasing them yesterday and there didn't seem to be any play,is this something I can feel if I give them a good rattle? Also the noise is a little like the sound of a dislodged drum break.....

Try a drop of ep90 in yer tranny. Mine was all but empty and was noisy and jumping out of hi. Check gearbox anorl.

Hi and thanks again, looks like I missed the obvious the rear doughnut has totally degraded,so that's this afternoon sorted!
