Evening all,

Just after a bit of advice and what people think my disco is worth (1994 300 tdi). It failed mot last week, non of the things seems to be 'major' but I have lost a bit of enthusiasm for it plus the plan was to sell late April time, so not sure if to spend more £ and time on it for mot, or try and sell 'as is'.

I'll start with the bad;

Failed on;
-rear number plate bulb (!)
- front wheel bearings
- front brake imbalance (both sides)
- both headlights have condensation in
- front outer track rod end ball joint
- steering box drop arm ball joint
- passenger rear chassis leg has 3 small holes (5-10p size, pics below)

Goods points/spec;

- 208k and had partial re-build around 100k which included; new cylinder head, gasket, thermostat, piston rings, big end bearings, refaced valves
- apart from those 3 little holes the chassis is solid - boot floor, inner front wings and sills all been done (sills replaced with box section)
- hd clutch and hd clutch fork fitted this month
- oil/fuel & air filters and oil changed this month
- a frame ball joint fitted this month
- rear cranked trailing arms with new bushes
- allisport intercooler and piping
- 2" suspension lift and 2" body lift
- roof rack
- light bar
- powerflow side exit exhaust
- chequer plated on various panels
- front and rear diff guards
- steering guard
- wind deflectors
- aftermarket (i think?) metal bumpers
- safari snorkel
- modular wheels (15x10) with 33x12.5 gt radial adventuro m/t's
- flexi arches
- towbar
- impreza sti front seats

Good condition exterior, usual scratches from laning but no dents.

hole 2&3

Thanks in advance for any help.

Nick.

£400 - £500 in my opinion and only my opinion, I wouldn't pay any more than that. KI would imagine when you start cleaning up the chassis, you may find a lot more holes

Looks alike it has a few extras so would be worth more in bits but thats alot of hassle

£500 ish sounds about right in the real world (sold my standard 300 disco with some mot for £850 last week) but ive seen mot fails make that on ebay so that may be worth a try

Having said that if thats the only rust the mot man picked up its prob worth fixing and sell with mot

get it sorted n keep it...its worth 800 scrap and broken in my opinion,,yea high miles but u wont get ur money back, if u put that on the bay I bet u will do well

evilbuy is the best place to sell an old heap or an mot failure.
Given that theres not much wrong with it I'd be tempted to sell as-is, after removing some valuable bits of course. Be very open about the faults, those rust pics are good, all can see its not a big deal.
Do you need to keep it a while longer to source its replacement ? If so fix it. If you dnt need to keep it - sell it.

Thanks for the input guys. I think to sell it how it is for around £500 I might as well stop sulking and get it fixed and mot'ed!

Have priced up the replacement parts and it's not actually that bad. The sunny day has also got my enthusiasm back up!
