And why exactly? Would you care to elaborate?[/QUOTE
Ben, I thought I was buying one of those good ones when I bought from them - I wasn't and the "MoT issue" various people have noted was also my experience. I had mine inspected a few months after buying because it was clear things weren't right and Walton Motors were less than keen to sort them out (yes, I know, wrong way round' should have had it inspected before buying from them - I fell for the "family business" and "land rover specialists"...) and guess what, it was a clear MoT failure. My advice for what it's worth and based on my direct experience is steer well clear!
Thanks for all the warnings posted here, was about to test drive the 110 they have available as already had the verbal over the phone. Warnings all heeded and will look elsewhere.

Any more info on Walton motors from more recent? I bought my 90 from them 2 weeks ago. Very nice inside and started every time but the other day then the alternator was broken which I suspect already was. Fan belt snapped and major oil leaks. Thankfully they collected the vehicle a few days after I contacted them but it's really difficult to speak to someone with answers about when it'll be returned. They never want to talk about the work being done either. Will post back with more info when it returns.

Don't know them but reading this thread, I wouldn't give them the benefit of the doubt if I were you. Get straight in there with a sale of goods letter.

Crap. Sounds like you came across this thread after buying the 90? I've been looking at D2's they have in stock and am so too very interested in this thread!

+1... Any garage who says buy it and we will do the work is to be avoided... If you are a proper garage do the work and someone will buy it....

Hey. Yeah I bought the Land Rover and then did research into Walton Motors. I got it back from them yesterday after they said they'd fixed it. I got a new (used) alternator which seems like works but they said they fixed all the oil leaks including the main leak from the gear box, which they didn't because it's leaking the same as before. But now I have a big leak from what I think is coming from the steering pump.
I've decided I'm not going to give it to them to fix as they're a bunch of lying idiots. Terrible customer service and never return phone calls. Me and a friend are going to have a close look this weekend a fix what we can. In future I'll get help from a land rover approved garage until I know how to do more myself.

Update on Walton motors. I wish I could do all I can to make sure no one ever buys a Land Rover from this company. I got my Land Rover back this week after the alternator and fan belts broke. They told me they fix all the leaks including the one coming from the gear/transfer box. They haven't and it's leaking more than before. Now I have a bad leak from the steering box which is leaving huge puddles everywhere I park. I called up to talk about this and of course they said they'd call me back but I didn't let them hang up and went on to complain to the man on the phone. He then ends up getting angry, swearing and telling me he would drag my Land Rover and leave in the middle of the road. (He must not have know I've got the landy back). Couldn't believe what I was hearing. DO NOT BUY FROM WALTON MOTORS!! PLEASE!!

Have you seen the thread about buying a crock of ****?

I would be involving trading stds and looking to go to small claims court.

Cheers

I had a close escape with them once....had a deposit down on another 90 that fortunately for me didn't proceed and I got my deposit back. Did have to call them and chase mind....

We have had the same experiences, loads of faults that shouldn't have passed an MOT (but has certificate) loads of ducking and diving about repairs, very difficult to get hold of etc. Took the vehicle back for repairs but didn't do any of them. They also gave it back with bodywork damage, denying it was them. Just waiting for expiry of 30 days to take them to small claims. Avoid them at all costs.

Phew, looks like I have dodged a bullet here. I have been looking for a 90 for the last few weeks, and they seemed to have several interesting trucks in my price range. I emailed them (as they invite you to do) asking about the cost of delivery to remote West Wales. They never replied, and I got fed up of waiting and sorted out a nice vehicle from a private seller. If they had been on the ball and replied quickly, I might be adding my tale of woe to this thread.

Currently rocking a Rolls Royce Ghost!?

Anybody heard from them for a while - just about to launch our small claims for a full refund and websites all down, no one answering the phones etc?

Just looked them up at companies house, shows them as dissolved after 8 years 3 months trading, surprised they lasted that long!

They will probably start up another company with a slight change in name to try and avoid bailiffs and sheriffs

CMW Developments Ltd. Same directors, same registered address. I had a look at their Land Rovers two years ago. Walked away.
