I just read this comment on a thread here .." The L322 Diesel engine comes complete with a diesel pre-heater to heat up the engine quickly, was an option on the petrol models".

How do you find out if I have this fitted and if I do how do you operate it?

Duh!

From memory, you should have a second fob that remotely switches this on....

Also it should be an option in the menu of the central monitor display thingy....

Under the bonnet is the preheater module.... atleast it is on the early L322's

You let her loose with it????

Brave, Brave (and foolish) man :D:D:D:D:D:D

When I did that, I had to bribe my other half with a Ninety Truck Cab to get it off her.....to quote her phrase 'You'll have to prise it out of my cold dead fingers - or get me a 90 pick up'

LOL my misses came home from work last night after driving it for the first time and she had a beaming smile from ear to ear.
Now I'll have to wait and see if this FFLR has a fuel heater very handy for her cos she works shifts so great addition.

Thanks.

And me the bloody misses has it :)

It was for her anyway, keep her safe, secure, warm and have some wheelie when needed.

Tanked her up today from diesel light on and cost £80.00 not bad.

You should have a FBH on the TDV8, if you don't have the remote fob for the FBH you can buy one on flea-bay and easily program it. You can also activate it from the centre touch screen, think it is called park heater. You can also set it to come on at a specific time in the morning. If your battery is low it will not come on. Also activates when the engine is cold to help warm the engine faster.

Yep misses just came home and I had a look at the screen, pressed manual and it started up and ran like a dream.

So, she finishes work at 18:00hrs tomorrow and if I'm right the heater runs for 30 mins so I get the 1st timer to run from 17:35pm so in effect it will turn off at 18:05pm.

Would the remote work as standard because I didn't have one off the dealer when it was picked up?

Regards

On a VSE it was standard fit, there is a remote receiver module behind the fuse panel in the driver side rear of the RR. The remote needs to be programmed, but that is not too difficult as I have done it myself. Will look up the code for the remote and the programming procedure and post it tomorrow for you.

Thanks bud, whats the model number of the remote I need been searching and I presume I need this one STYLE T91?

Ordered the T91 thanks.

I also purchased a Land Rover Professional Diagnostic Scan Tool iCarsoft LRII LR2 reader because of the dash message and it showed up quite a few codes that I'm hoping are not serious.

Last night I cleared all the codes and later today I will do another read and see what shows up but I did remember two of them so can anyone shed some light?

U2016 - Control module main software.
DTC Status: Current.

B1A82 - External trip switch circuit.
DTC status: Current.

That's the two I can remember.

Any ideas, anyone?

RR are great fro throwing up fault codes, especially lost communication errors. I would see what fault codes reappear (if any) after clearing the existing stored codes.
