Hi Guys

I've had the air inlet manifold off twice recently (MAF problems) and cleaned it once with oven cleaner and once with Autoglym engine cleaner/degreaser and then Carb/air inlet cleaner.

It's still really dirty!!!

Can anyone suggest the best way to get it spotless inside?

I also think I may have moved cr@p into the MAP sensor inside it, so I am going to have to remove that and give it a clean next time I take it apart.

Just about to order a EGR bypass kit, which should stop it happening again!

Thanks in advance.

Hot water, washing up liquid and a brush, followed by pressure washer then put through the dishwasher when no one is looking. Remove all sensors before doing this though :)

As the thread by Ming - I used 2 cans of Mr Muscle Oven Cleaner. Just spray it in until the foam comes out, wait 10 minutes then wash out. I repeated this about 4 times. Inbetween used lots of kitchen towel to remove gunk as it started to move. Make sure you take the map sensor out first - clean down this hole with cotton buds.
good luck its a very messy job
