Dan.
I have received a reply from A/F stating they will take the extra payment from the card they hold details of if they dont hear off me in 7 days, i have replied to their email to state they must not take payment from that card but to contact me for payment from a different card......Thought id post on here so theres no confusion.

might have been done as a classic car policy, they don't usually attract no claims bonuses.

To be fair, just swapped to Flux with my disco.

Endsleigh - £360 TPFT

Flux - £350 Fully comprehensive.

No brainer for me :D

Been with flux for 5years, switched when wanted off road cover on my Shogun Sport, at 21 all the others were quoting between 1500 and 2k, flux quoted £650 full comp, never gone up. As soon as my Rangy is rebuilt I will go with them as I have been qouted £250 with all of the mods.

Just insured with flux nearly £100 cheaper than the next cheapest quote well pleased with the price!

Ive got a question for you!

How is it my insurance is £1200 p/a 4 years ncb, 21y/o.

When someone else 21 just passed their test is on £900 p/a
???

With insurance there are a lot of things taken into consideration when working out premiums, not just age, license length and No Claims Discount.

Obviously I don't have access to all of the details for these specific cases, nor would I be able to divulge the information were I to have it, but I can spitball a few things;

Firstly cover level, your quotation of 1200 could be comprehensive and the other third party, fire and theft. Also, Being a broker, we have 272 schemes available to place out business on. There's may be a difference in your details which means the scheme which is quoting £900, that makes us unable to place you on this certain market. This could be things like mileage, modifications, motoring convictions and use. In some cases, the fact that one LR is a Defender, and the other is a Disco, can mean that a scheme won't cover the vehicle.

I hope this helps. If there's any other questions, feel free to ask. I may be slow replying today, with us being closed Sundays, I'm obviously at home. However ill try and keep check on the thread.

You need to factor in your post code, address, on street parking, drive parking,or in a garage. You seem to be in a high rate zone

This may seem very unfair to some motorists – after all, postcodes can cover a number of houses. However, things have certainly improved since the 1980’s. Back then, car insurance companies categorised policy holders homes’ into seven key types of location – ranging from inner cities to rural areas – as an indicator of how likely a person was to be the victim of car theft or vandalism . In recent years, car insurers have access to more data, allowing them to pinpoint with more accuracy which specific postcodes are classed as ‘higher risk’ areas.

To this end, UK car insurers now use your full postcode to determine any risk factors applicable to your car, i.e. the first section of your postcode indicates the city you live in, and your approximate location (centre, suburbs etc.) and the second part tells them exactly where your home is located. Using this information, they can examine your location in finer detail, and, as certain streets have higher crime rates, premiums for any such areas will be higher than those for other postcodes. Insurance companies group these ‘high risk’ postcodes, allowing them to work out exactly how much extra someone should pay on their car insurance premium.
