Hi all.

I’ve been looking at buying an access ladder for my Landy, probably the britpart one.

However, all the pics I’ve seen have the side swing door, and not the flap. I also have a spare wheel carrier

Has anyone fitted one and had any issues with it fouling?

Many thanks.

Hi, I have a ladder taken from a roof rack, see photo. Its not fitted just propped up to give you an idea of how it would fit.

I have the standard hook over the gutter version on my 110. Although it does does look like it covers that part of the body work there is a very large gap behind it so there may be room for the swing away to still open and close. I can measure the position and gap if that helps?

I've seen these fitted to Series - neat and you only need a couple:

I have chequer plate steps on the front bumper, then on the wings and and extra bit on the bonnet so I climb up the front and load from there. I find this works as I put everyting on the bonnet before I climb up, then lift from there. I also have a home made ladder which we stow inside, it is for the bunks when the roof is up, but also has hooks on and wheels so it doubles as a sack barrow or can hook on the gutter rail.

One more thought, on the expedition sites one thing they recommend (I suspect this applies to Sangatte too) is to hinge the ladder mid point so the bottom half swings up and pad-locks to the top for security. This could solve your door flap problem too.

If you could that’d be great. It is the Brit part gutter ladder I was looking at too.
