I don't know - GEMS / THOR is just the engine, other systems shouldn't be affected as far as I can see. But if it is locked to one type by engine then it may lock al the subsystems out too.
mines a 2000 w reg Thor with 4WD TC - i suspect that gems engine models were all rear wheel traction control onlySorry missed this one.
Gems or Thor doesn't matter just whether it's 2 or 4wd TC as far as i understand.
I've still got my nanocom but I'm a bit stuck without wheels until i get fixed myself
Yes, Otto is a 96/97 GEMS so definitely 2w TC. Sorry, doubt it would help then.mines a 2000 w reg Thor with 4WD TC - i suspect that gems engine models were all rear wheel traction control only
Check the Blackbox web site, I think Nanocom covers both versions of ABS ECU, it's only the engine modules that are locked to one type. Diesels come with either type of ABS ECU for example depending on year.Yes, Otto is a 96/97 GEMS so definitely 2w TC. Sorry, doubt it would help then.
Thanks for the offer - unfortunately mine's the Thor engine.
Will a Gems Nanocom diagnose the ABS system on a Thor engined P38 ?
+1 on only difference in Nanocom versions are the engine license codes. All other modules are generic & not locked to license. Use mine on Dopey's diesel a couple of years ago for EAS & SRS resets.
To select between Wabco C or D, simply select the correct engine type in menu. E.g. after selecting GEMS, it shows Wabco-C. If you select EDC engine, and both C & D appear.

I cannot be sure, but I think you may be wrong on that.Don't think so as GEMS is wabco C and yours will be D.
Only way to find out is to hook mine up to Scotiawhiskers' nanocom and find outWabco b = no traction control
Wabco c = 2 wheel traction control
Wabco D = 4 wheel traction control
so it goes on as to what brake system you have on your car.

Thanks for confirming that, I thought it wsa the case.Just had confirmation from Alex on Nanocom Forum that the P38 unlock codes are specific to engine ECU only. All other modules should work on any P38.
For those of you with the Nanocom forum login: http://forum.nanocom-diagnostics.com/thread-3942.html
I doubt WABCO made sensors, they would just be branded. I have cheap after market front sensors in both my P38's and have had no trouble with them. I guess you have just been unlucky.Beamends 4x4 in Dilhorne confirmed today its the 3rd replacement osf abs sensor - shows on Hawkeye as short to another sensor - unplugged it and tested it and it is open circuit, no resistance, as was the nsf one i swapped the other week when I did the cv joint thinking it was another broken reluctor ring on the nearside. So since last December that's 3 pairs of aftermarket sensors. Think the first pair were £22 ebay special from China that LRX 4x4 told me were junk when they diagnosed my ABS fault, 2nd OE set were from LRX in Leekbrook £95 the pair but the fault turned out to be a broken reluctor ring and then the osf LRX OE new sensor turned out to be duff, 3rd pair were from Kerr Nelson £22 each. On reflection, now I have gone through all the **** with aftermarket, I should have bought 2nd hand genuine Wabco, being as the originals were working fine after 21 years use until I chopped them out to remove the hub carriers when I did the front balljoints.
yes thats what mine was doing last december so it was fighting me and not braking when I was trying to brake - very unnerving to drive like thatMy symptoms of a broken/cracked reluctor ring, car thought that wheel was locking up briefly and energised the abs. Only happened at low speed
