Well, I thought I would start a new thread from this one I have going...
http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f8/you-have-love-them-253454.html
as I am still having problems after yet another afternoon and morning trying to solve it, so I do come across the solution it may be easier for other people to find if they have a similar fault.
To recap:-
Driving along and ABS light comes on - will not go out and ABS has disabled.
Done the blink test - code 1-2 comes up.
The only list I can find this blink code is here:
blink test codes
So going from that its the "Sensor B (L1) Sensor speed jump"
Also this code cannot be cleared from the memory.
I have re-seated the ABS sensors in the wheels, as I have recently changed the Track Rod Ends, and with a lot of bashing, thought these might have come out a bit.
Have checked the 5amp fuse in the fuse box (under drivers side) and also the 40amp fuse in the bonnet - these are all good.
Put power to the ABS pump and this comes alive, so no problems there (I did have an issue with a dodgy earth to the pump a few years back, but this is still ok, as checked that too - see my thread here...

It seems I am just destined to have this 1-2 code and problems, although as it seems intermittent for a couple of years.
The only other thing that has recently been done is extended braided hoses, although I cannot see why that would affect the ABS?
Any brakes / ABS experts out there that can help please??
