What car is it? TD4? what year? Auto or manual? What light is lit? The ABS light or the hand brake light or the three Amigos?

Car is a1.8 petrol manual
The handbrake light comes on at 10mph
And now I've unblocked the abs light that
Is continually on
All other lights are fine they go out as normal

Have a look at the brake fluid reservoir, If it's over the top mark you will have to get some of the fluid out to below the top level mark. let us know what you find.

Done some messing today there was no and ring on drivers rear that's been sorted but the abs light still won't go off and the handbrake light comes on at 10mph

Hi nodge 68
It's a 2002 model one of the last mk1s
I've had it 11 month and never realised the abs light never came on its been blocked with some sticky pads
I removed them last night and the abs light us constantly on
I've just put a new cv joint on rear as the abs ring was knackered but it still won't go out

It could be a sensor. They're easy to check on that year with a simple DMM on resistance. They should measure about 1 K ohm or so.

I've just been reading a blog from the landrover blogger and he removed the prop and the lights stayed on but he hasn't got round to saying how he reset them
I'm just going to take it to the garage and let them check it out
I don't no how to check the sensors with a multi metre

To save a lot of time i would take it to a local friendly garage to get them to do a diagnostic check.
Sounds like one of the A B S sensors has failed. ;)

Cheers lads
It's booked in tomorrow morning
I can't be arsed checking everything myself and getting nowhere
It's only £30
And I will get strait to the problem

What scan tool have you got I was looking to buy one for future reference
I got the lynx locked to the freelander only because i had a old laptop so it cut down on the price as it was on offer at the time. I would go for the Hawkeye with every land rover option enabled

Well it's been on machine this morning and has the following problems
Osf abs ring broken
Nsf abs ring broken
Ns rear abs sensor broken
Cost of repairs including labour and vat
Is an astonishing £448
This problem could of been solved sooner
If the last owner hadn't blacked out the 3 amigos :mad:

The rings are £15 each. The sensor is about £40.
It's a 45 minute per side job to change the rings.
The sensor can be a bugger to get out. So allow an hour for that. Your quote sounds excessive to me.
