The price is more for Labour
Abs rings are bought with cv joint so that's a price ike
The ones I need can't be bought separate
But it needs doing so that's that
I'm not happy but wife needs the car

Yes its the c v joint that rusts and expands splitting the a b s ring cleaning the c v housing to get rid of all the rust would make it to small to accept a new a b s ring
Get the Garage to do an itemized bill so you can see if they are playing fair.;)

DON'T worry I will
I ****es me off really that I bought It
with 11month mot I never took any notice of the lights never coming on as they had been blacked out
Took it for new mot Friday and failed as abs light was not working and reason for that is it's been blacked out
I could have repaired the probs if I'd have known it had some over the time I've had the car

I had ABS, TC fault lights and the speedo intermittently working. Turned out to be a faulty ABS sensor at the front. My 02 facelift TD4 did not have sensor rings, there is a magnetic emitter built into the wheel bearing.I just ordered two new sensors from Ebay just in case, changed the LH one and the job was sorted.

Rings are available separately;) I fitted these to the mother in laws V6 for the last MOT.

Never had that problem myself. The rings are always a stretch fit on the joint. So a quick clean up with a decent wire brush and knock the new rings on. ;)

Well it's done now
Decided to put new cv joints including abs rings on both front shafts from landrover main dealer
Brand new abs sensor on rear again from landrover
Also 2x inner cv boots from landrover
All lights out
It cost a lot but you can't put a price on the safety of kids being in the car
Thanks again for all the input and help

Thanks I will try and source some

A 2001 FL1 shaft is unique to the 1A chassis. It has the same physical dimensions to the later 2A chassis FL (engine dependent) but has ABS rings fitted, which the later shafts don't have. You'll be looking at about £200 per side for GKN. But bargains do pop up from time to time. ;)

I might have to wait and see what pops up in that case

Yep if only I had know I would have saved up more money and researehed what i was getting into lol When I was looking at the Freelander. I must have be to see nearly 10 before this one came up which was the best of the bunch at the time.

Any drive shaft under £100-£150 won't be a GKN and so is likely to cause vibration and damage.
Yes that's them I've bought things in the past from them but they couldn't get the bits I've just had done as they were special order only
So we're purchased from landrover main dealer
