Seen plenty posts on this but would be grateful for suggestions.
Just bought (privately) a 2001 Freelander td4 Auto. Runs great, apart from:
TC, ABS and HDC! lights:
Come on at startup and will stay on if I drive forwards.
If I reverse for a bit first though they go out, but come on again later in the journey, or the next journey.

Mine has been doing it recently Again. Was a ABS wheel sensor the last time, but it could be the reverse light switch, although the reversing lights have never worked from the day I bought mine. Apparently not required under MOT, although I find that scary and dangerous. Broken wire somewhere as it is intermittent.

I seriously doubt it would be reverse lamp switch. Foot brake switch maybe or a wheel sensor but reverse lamps have nothing to do with ABS.

I had same thing on a 2001 auto td4. Exciter ring on one of the front cv joints had a crack, giving a false abs reading,
cheaper and easier to change the cv joint if it is the problem.

My update on the intermittent trio of lights. Braking hard with ABS doesnt cause the lights to come on.
I have also noticed the cruise doesnt cancel immediately with pressure on the brake pedal. So looks like the switch will be the place to start
