ABS and TC lights started to come on when making a left turn at 40mph+ and then stay on, this has progressed to coming on even when tootling around the town. If you turn the vehicle off and on again the lights go off until you make any left turn. The warning lights coming on is not related to braking.

I have tried/tested the following without success:
Wheel bearings correctly adjusted
Tried the sensors at various depths within the housing
Resistance of ABS sensors measured with multimeter all seem similar (1.2)
Diagnostic code 81 (front left ABS sensor signal output too low)
Tried replacing the left front sensor and swapping left and right front sensors

So where do I go from here?

In hindsight from about 80000 miles the ABS seems to trigger occassionally when braking at low speeds. Is this related?

MOT due August, need to get this sorted!

Thanks

Have you cleaned the ABS sensor connectors?
Give them a good squirt of brake cleaner and then compressed air.
Reconnect using a smear of petroleum jelly.
I had a similar problem and it was down to a dirty connector on front offside.

Yes, we have done all that. Even taken the drivers side sensor out and stuck it in the passenger side, still says its a passenger side problem. Could it be a problem with the rotating ring?

Either that or the wiring to the passenger side.
My money is on a wiring fault as the rotator ring would need to be physically damaged which should be visible.

When you say that any damage should be visible, I take it you mean we would have to take the half shaft out so that we could actually see the rotator ring?
If it was a wiring fault why would the lights only come on when I make a left handed turn?
My plan is to take the half shaft out to inspect the rotator irng, if it looks intact I plan to remove the bulbs
Thanks

Mine was behaving much like yours was at 80,000 miles. Turned out to be one of the CVJs. Changed both (with Britpart, so far so good) and all now ok. Inspecting the old CVs having disassembled them and wear was evident, but not that great. My assumption was they were vibrating when off loaded and upsetting the ABS/TC.
Good luck,
Mike.
