Hi,
Sorry I know its another post about this..but I've searched the forum and internet for weeks with no joy..this is what has happened -
Brought car - changed head gasket, cam belt, alternator belt, wheel bearing and cv joint. Since doing this the abs, tc and hill decent with the ! is on..we changed the abs speed cable with no luck..checked the cables next to the gear box - none look worn or broke and the green hill light comes on..so now So now I'm quite stuck..:( it has been plugged in and it read it was to do with the ABS - don't know the codes as my partners dad did it at the college he works at. I know theirs a brake switch that can cause it but my break lights are fine and this happened since the bearing/ cv joint was done..
we've also checked for a cracked reluctor ring - but the one that came with the cv joint doesn't fit with it on - however one wasn't taken off and haven't had time to look at the other side but can't see one from a quick look - its a freelander serengeti 2002 1.8 petrol - is it possible they don't use these and have the magnets in the bearing?

Door handle - since disconnecting the battery it won't open, no noise or window drop, but the window will go up and down from central console, window wiper works and heater..we are going to attempt to take it apart soon - guessing we are looking for a broken wire?

Sorry if its not very car technical..I'm kinda new to this and having to learn cars quick..lol thank you :)

Hi
Re the tailgate ....try pressing the handle in for longer - these are the exact same symptoms that mine had, I pressed the handle in for about 5 seconds and it opened fine.

I suspect your abs issue is down to the replacement drive shaft or whatever you replaced earlier.

It was my understanding you couldn't get the cv joint separately for a 2001 onwards and the 2002 uses a different driveshaft to the 2001 as the abs system is different

Did you fit the right level parts for your car???

we replaced the cv joint and wheel bearing, and we ensured they was the right parts - ringing the suppliers with my car details - so presumed you can change it like I have done with previous cars - may have to look into a complete drive shaft for it and see if that helps - also taking off the other side to compare the parts we've changed.
The only other thing I've read is if the bearing was damaged while putting in, so going to try to book it into a garage to get it checked as soon as I can.

Thanks for your help, and unfortunately the holding the handle didn't work..we are hopefully looking more into it tomorrow!

Ok - heres my thread anyway http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f9/tailgate-locked-shut-254633.html

TBH I just had the handle pressed in while I was thinking of what else to do - got a bit of a surprise when it suddenly opened.

Can you hear the micro switch click when you press in the handle? if not the springs inside the handle might have failed.

Good luck
Brack :)

Finally managed to get the back panel off after a lot of swearing and a cable has been caught and broke so hopefully fixing that this weekend!
And finally got a reader and it has c1152 can signal stuck throttle error and c1019 front wheel speed sensor signal missing or too low
, anyone have any ideas the first one?
Thanks :)

C1152 will be as a result of an issue with the throttle position switch or throttle cable adjustment.

Check the multi plugs for the throttle position switch and cam sensor have been plugged in the right way round after the head gasket was replaced.

Thanks will get it checked tomorrow managed to finally sort out so now have a working boot
Just got to sort out the abs issue now!
