Tis a thing of beauty that Mr
looks really smart
like the rubber floor mats I have my eye on a set until my transfer box decided to bleed all over the place

Almost done, its one of the best looking landys i have seen, just running out of things which have not already been said.
It would be nice to have some pictures when it has all the bits and pieces fitted to see it in all its glory.

Sorry mate, don't like it, but tell you what ... My 90 is ace, I'll swap it for yours, provided you fill the tank and bung me a few hundred quid. Can't say fairer than that .. :)
It might need a clean ..

Seriously .. Lovely job. I wish I had the attention to detail. I make stuff, but it's usually a bit rough .. Keep on doing it mate, love reading your write ups and descriptions.

Good grief Aaron, last time I looked in here it was about half done and the engine was only just going in. Now it looks like it only needs a weekends work to have it on the road. In all that time I've managed to look at mine, then look at it some more, then start removing all the red paint. I reckon your round 4 will be finished before I am, and you will probably be on your 5th resto!

very nice :)

Cheers chap :)

Beautiful - great to see some more progress.:)

Thanks :) Back on hold slightly for a short while, but hope to send it for an MOT within the next 2-3 weeks.

One day i'll ask you to build me an auto 90 for the missus.

Haha, don't say that ;) That was my thoughts for the next build

First of all you're in the bad books for not updating the post for so long! ;)
Love the LED lights. I've stayed traditional cos I'm too tight.
Is that closed cell underlay foam stuff? Looks similar to the stuff I used.
Not convinced with the laminate floor, mate. Will it not be echoey and counteract the insulation?
Did you already have the seat belt bars and chassis brackets for the back or did you source them from somewhere?
Great to have an update :)

Closed cell underlay stuff is the same stuff as you bought mate ;) Didn't realise how much came on the roll
And possibly so with the rear floor, I will likely throw a rubber mat over it as well, and no seat belt bars yet, it is something that seems hard to find, but hoping to be going to Peterborough lr show next month and with some luck find some their :)

On seeing your headlining I realise you are human after all :p

Cracking job on the rest of it.
Although the LED lights are not to my taste, a bit to bling for the classic look of the rest of it, but what do I know, I dive a rusty old D1 ;)

Haha, in fairness the head lining isn't great, the carpet is the only thing holding it together in places :eek:
And you could be right about the LED lights, I have some good ideas, some bad, they was more of an impulse buy than anything else, 10 minute job to swap them back if /I decide to change back :)

Cheers Ray :) Would think everything will be finalised and buttoned up, MOT etc within a month, main thing is to get some wheels ordered.

Cheers mate :), I love reading other people build threads, so I might as well try and put something back in.

hello mate
can i ask what the cost is on the matting ?

Hello mate, matting was £320, Is yours nearly finished now then mate if you are thinking of finishing touches?

Haha, things must have just gone to plan, although I have been quite busy without it, but a weekends work is probably about right, and yes I will most likely start another one shortly :D
Removing all the red paint sounds drastic  What are you doing that for?

How is your neighbor?

I would assume terrible while I am still living here o_O
Although it seems they like me and my lr's that much that they now feel the need to read my threads on here

Yes mate she is done, just changing the transfer box over this weekend as mine has a lot of play in it
have gone for the 1.2 so should be a bit quieter
so matting will have to wait for now

Simply because cellulose is utter crap. I like the shine that you can achieve and it saves using 2k laquer but it's just not durable at all. I was looking at the roof the other day and some bird poop has actually eaten through to the primer. Couldn't believe it! Decided after that to just start again.

Well chaps not a lot has happened of late, I had last week off work and went and helped a friend finish his rebuild all week, it was nice to be involved in something other than my own builds for once :)
I had planned to finish some bits and bobs off on mine on Saturday, but it pissed it down.. so I spent the day tidying up and sorting the shed out a little, I even threw some stuff away

Sunday was a better day, finished the odd bits and bobs I could and gave everything a good clean/tidy.
New wheels/tyres where then ordered and cills prepped ready to fit.

And then being a bank holiday Monday and having the day off, I may have decided to start stripping another one down yesterday
Oops! Guess it looks like another project is on the cards then :D

Oh and the starter motor seems to have given up the ghost..
Went to move it yesterday and nothing, starter just clicks, added a temporary earth and still nothing, made a new permanent one up anyway while I was their just in case.
Seems strange for it to just give up completely all at once as their has been no sign of it giving up for the last few months, not even once.
But will have a good look around tonight and see if I can find anything else untoward first before ordering a new one.

Ah, bloody hell, I didn't realise it was that bad  So is it all to be removed before starting again, bugger that for a game of soldiers

Looks like the before and after pictures in an advert.

Thanks Ray, the picture may come in in the future then :)

Finally bit the bullet and bought some new wheels and tyres, which turned up yesterday.

And couldn't resist having a quick test fit :) A big improvement over what was on before, but I think they could do with changing to the same colour as the roof really.

I think that will give it the final touch looking forward to seeing it

With the starter, don't forget the low current live feed. On mine there's a wire from the dash that activates the solenoid. It goes on a spade terminal. This sometimes needs a jiggle or a squeeze with a pair of pliers. Took me quite a while to work out what it was the first time it happened.
