According to the article, its happened to them twice... Maybe there are factors other than the car? Maybe they live on a flood plain - or some other factor that insurers see as important. I note they didn't mention why they were told they could not be insured any longer (twice) but clearly could initially on both vehicles.

'Obviously, I'm not going to buy another Land Rover, which is a shame, as it's perfect for out needs. But I can insure myself on a sporty Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT for £700 a year.'

I can only roll my eyes on the insurances in the UK.

They need to ask why??

Crime in the area is low! (See Attached)

They were if you Can BA to read the whole article.

It's the Daily Wail, I read as much as I could stand.
If you mean:-
"The policy ran for the full 12 months, in that time two changes of vehicle were made, and it was completed in December 2023. It was never cancelled.

'The customer was contacted three weeks before renewal to inform them we could not offer a renewal price. The underwriting acceptance criteria surrounding the vehicle grouping and value had changed since their original cover was agreed. As a broker we had no alternative to offer them at the time."

Then that is at odds with the headline as the insurance wasn't cancelled, their broker wasn't able to offer them a renewal price.
It also wasn't in the original article, possibly this bit at the top of the page " Updated: 16:55, 25 January 2024" explains why.
As I said, it's the Daily Wail, who never knowingly let actual facts get in the way of clickbait headlines.

No it wasn't cancelled, as the headline said, but you wanted to know why it wasn't renewed, and that WAS said. But I fully unnerstand why you CBA to read to the end, in fact I'm amazed I did!

Forgive me for my pedantry, I have run out of the tablets for it!! 🤣 🤣 🤣

To be totaly honest it was the price that was quoted them that got me wondering are we all going to suffer vastly inflated costs to insure our cars

Will get cheaper to just take the fines, cannot jail 75% of drivers for non payment of the fines either.

Funny enough saw this today about insurance

Made me larf when he said " EV's aren't being stolen" are the tea leaves suffering from range anxiety as well ? 😂 😂 😂.
Also they should go back to the D2 immobiliser system as even with the correct key the owners can't get 'em to start when they play up 😁, all the best.
