The quick heads up is: Don't bother, it's shite.

back in March or April when I rebuilt the farm trailer, I couldn't get any fertan so bought a big tin of the flag anti rust stuff from t tool station, followed all the instructions and even gave it a headstart by attacking the worst of the rust with a wire cup/wheel brush on the grinder, but now the rust has come back and has come through the top coat of paint, ruining what was looking like a nice trailer/muck cart!

So if you're tempted, just give yourself a slap and buy fertan instead so you don't need to do the job twice...

Had the same thing with kurust on my lightweight bulkhead recently rust came through the primer in the week between painting and getting top coat on

Stuff I've treated with Fertan has lasted over a year on the underside of my landy, even without being painted with anything else, which I think is a very good test!

Agreed about Kurust -its Curap

Flag do boat paint too, don't go near that either, I had to strip it all off after less than a year.. That which hadn't fallen off Anyway.!!!

I found the same with Fertan x2 panels treated last week and they are rusted already
I must be doing something wrong

Guess so, I've used it pretty slap dash on some things and its come out well. Did you degrease the panel first? It's water based so needs to be able to stay in contact with an oil/silicone free surface.

On a side note, why does everyone call silicone, silicon!?
"I sealed it up with silicon.." What, like a load of crushed up computer chips, made into a sticky, gravel like paste?! :D
