Re-sync needed maybe?

Take the fuel line that feeds the fuel filter off and crank engine, should get 180ml of fuel in 10 seconds...this will confirm the intank lift pump is working.

If that is OK, it could be the Engine ECU to BeCM could need re-syncing....it has been known to lose its marbles (although rare on the Diesel but common on the petrols)

Trust the new pump is from a Range Rover.....pumps from other M51 variations won't work.

If it is a pump from another M51, you'll need to swap the top part over with the Range Rover electronicals in it to be compatible!

Was the replacement pump off a P38? If not, the electronics may not be compatible. How did you time the new pump? It need specialist kit and is critical.
 
Is there anyway to by pass the ecu, as we had the same problem with the old pump it wasn't letting fuel through?
 
Basically the car was over feeling and now we are getting nothing. We took the top two sections off the old pump and since doing that we have had no fuel coming through the pump. We know 100 percent that we got the cam back in place from the Middle part of the pump.

Not that I know off, the BeCM to ECU sync is part of the security system and immobiliser...

Needs a diagnostic device or syncmate to resync the two ecu's...that is of course if that is the issue!

Think you had better get someone who knows what they are doing to look at it. The position of the centre section is critical you can't just flop it back on. If the BECM/engine ECU are out of sync it will never start. If it's the wrong pump it will never start.

You are digging ever deeper into a hole, how did you time the new pump when you fitted it?
The electronics on the Omega pumpare not compatible according to other posts on here.
 
Unless the new pump has the Bosch part number 0460406994 stamped on it, it will NOT work. The upper half of the pump (electronics) are different on the pumps used on the BMW and Vauxhall versions of the M51. They are NOT compatible with the Land rover ECM ECU. The only thing you can do to get it going is swap the top half over from the original pump onto it. But seeing as how that part was possibly your problem in the first place, that may well be a waste of time. Get a Proper pump. Get someone on it who knows what they are doing.

The problem we have is the value of the car, so far we have had 2 diagnostic scans run on the car with nothing coming back. We have also had a Landrover specialist run I beleive t4 diagnostic on the car to no avail. It's not feasible to keep throwing money at it.

Changing things on spec is an expensive way of fault finding.

To fit a FIP.you need the locking pin for the flywheel and a dial gauge to set the pump.

Yeah but not for one that won't work with the engine. Maybe he is not as much of a specialist as you think. You need some that really knows what they are doing. Lots think they do but don't.

Put your location in , there may be someone nearby who can help who knows what they are talking about. Listen to wammers and not those who are repeating advice like parrots
