Hi looks good............. But now your black headlight plastic trim looks odd so it's time to get spraying again . Just being honest

yes you are right, but i have no idea how to get it off so I left it, do the headlightrs have to come out to get the trim out??

Iv never had to take mine out yet or read rave on that section .But all the second hand headlights iv ever seen for sale always have the plastic trim still attached so I would say yes

Yes, the strips are attached to the headlight housing. Take the grill off, unlatch the turn signals from the inside, disconnect cables, undo three bolts (if i recall correctly) and off they go.

The alternative is to just mask everything. You'll have to mask out the lens anyway, as the fittings on the back of the headlights don't love undoing very much - the plastic can be very brittle and just snap.

Quoting Workshop manual in the case you change your mind:

1.Remove indicator. See this section.
2. Remove front grille. See CHASSIS AND BODY,
Repair.
3. Release headlamp wiper arm securing nut
cover.
4. Remove nut.
5. Release headlamp washer tube from wiper arm.
Remove wiper arm.
6. Remove bolt securing headlamp housing to
bonnet platform
7. Remove bolt securing housing to inner wing
platform.
8. Remove 2 nuts securing housing to front panel.
9. Disconnect multiplugs from headlamp and wiper
motor.
10. Remove headlamp housing assembly.

And regarding your question about the trim:

Once the lamp is out:

11. Remove 2 screws securing trim moulding to
headlamp housing. Remove trim.

NicP38, you're of course correct. I forgot about the fancy wipers and didn't bother looking on the underside of the headlamp housing, as my headlight practically fell out of it because all the lugs were broken.
I plan to spray mine dark grey, in something like bumper or light guards...

looks good what colour is it
it's star silver from a vectra I had once, i did my van grill and it looked a good silver so I did the range rover too, I think it makes it look a bit more modern anyway! if you do yours don't forget plastic primer! or if you are local I will hapily do it for you for the cost of paint:) or free if you supply the paint and primer!

I'd have sprayed it black, but hey it looks good

I was thinking black or red like the car but as It was dark grey before it looked black when wet so i had an idea of what it would look like black, and I saw a red one with red grill and it looked a bit too colour coded, so went for the silver because it looks a bit more like the newer range rovers in silver and I just liked it! but if the car was silver I'd have kept the grill black!!!

now if I paint the awkward strip should I do it red or silver? and should I do the wipers too or keep them black!!!
